CHECKLIST FOR LETTER IN SUPPORT OF APPLICATION FOR
EXTRAORDINARY ABILITY

Supporting documentation from the applicant's
peers will be very helpful in expediting the processing of his application for
classification as a person of “Extraordinary Ability.” In particular, evidence
of the applicant's original accomplishment, his high salary, membership in
professional associations, and recognition in his field for significant
accomplishments or any other evidence of the applicant's extraordinary ability
you would like to include would be helpful.
To the extent possible and within the
bounds of the truth, you should cover the following points in your letter about
the applicant:

You
should write your letter on your official letterhead and address it to
Immigration and Naturalization Service (without specifying a street address). You should describe your current position and
your qualifications that make you qualified to comment on the applicant's
contributions to his field. Please
attach a copy of your curriculum vitae to your letter.

You
should describe how you know the applicant, specifying the nature and duration
of your professional relationship with him.
If you have worked together, please describe the period (the beginning
and end dates, by month and year) during which you worked together.

Please
describe the applicant's most outstanding contributions to his field.

Please
describe the significance of the applicant's work and the impact it has had on
both his specific field and on the
United States generally.

Please
describe why the applicant’s accomplishments are extra-ordinary compare with
other accomplishments in this field. You
should focus on any aspect of his life or character that sets him above other
accomplished people in his field of expertise.
